Background
Hi, I'm David Cui (pronounced sway). An engineer, innovator, and artist working at the intersection of Science and Art.
Raised by an artist (mother) and a scientist (father), I was exposed to the creative and analytical sides of life from a young age.
Using art and design to get into university, I channeled the same creativity into innovation, building products and companies that solve real-world problems at Washington University in St. Louis, where I graduated in May 2025 with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.
The path has led to where I am now: NYU's Startup School, pursuing the MS-CEI degree (Master's in Computing, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship), to build a startup from the ground up.
When I step away from the keyboard, you'll find me on the soccer pitch, on a climbing wall, following the markets, or deep in a game of chess.
